In the first quarter of 2026, another positive dynamic was observed in Uzbekistan's education sector. According to data from the National Statistics Committee, 15,124 foreign citizens visited the country for educational purposes in January–March.

This figure is significantly higher compared to the same period last year. Specifically, compared to 2025, the number of students increased by 8.5 thousand, with the total growth representing nearly 2.3 times. This indicates that Uzbekistan's education market is becoming increasingly attractive on the international stage.

According to the analysis, the majority of students arriving in the country come from neighboring and regional states. Turkmenistan, in particular, maintains its lead — 7,174 students came from that country. India (2,835 students) and Tajikistan (1,170 students) were recorded in the following places.

Additionally, 641 students from China, 483 from the Kyrgyz Republic, and 438 from Pakistan chose Uzbekistan for their education. Furthermore, the number of those arriving from Egypt, South Korea, and the Philippines also amounts to hundreds of people.

One of the noteworthy aspects is the expanding geography. For instance, the number of students from the USA reached 191. This signifies that interest in Uzbekistan's education system is growing not only within the region but also in distant countries. Other countries account for 1,211 students.

In short, Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as an educational hub. If this trend continues, it is not far from reality that the country will become an even more important point for international students in the coming years.
