Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be in Astana on April 21-22 on a working visit, at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. During this visit, the head of state is scheduled to participate in influential events of regional significance.
In particular, the President will participate in the Regional Ecological Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. These forums serve as an important platform for further strengthening cooperation between Central Asian countries and finding joint solutions to common problems.
During the events, pressing issues serving the region's sustainable development — such as ecology, climate change, and rational use of water resources — will be discussed in detail. Notably, water scarcity and ecological risks, which are vital for Central Asia, are expected to be among the main topics on the agenda.
The head of state will present Uzbekistan's position on these issues and put forward specific proposals and initiatives. He is also scheduled to visit a special ecological exhibition showcasing national pavilions.
A number of important agreements and documents are expected to be signed at the conclusion of the summit. These decisions could not only elevate cooperation between countries to a new level but also be a significant step towards the ecological stability of the entire region.
In short, these meetings in Astana are of strategic importance for the future of Central Asia. The focus will now be on the decisions adopted and how they will yield results in practice.
