Uzhydromet: Strong winds and dust storms expected in five regions today

Uzhydromet, Uzbekistan's meteorological service, has issued a warning for deteriorating weather conditions across several regions on April 22nd. Strong winds, with speeds potentially reaching 15-20 meters per second, are forecast for Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, and Surkhandarya provinces. These winds, especially in open and desert areas, could also trigger dust and sandstorms, leading to reduced visibility. Authorities are advising the public, particularly road users, to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures.

It was reported that during daylight hours, wind speeds in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, and Surkhandarya regions are expected to increase to 15–20 meters per second. Dust storms are also likely to be observed along with the wind, especially in open and desert areas.
