Young families provided with expanded housing opportunities
In brief

Starting in 2027, Uzbekistan will introduce a specialized mortgage program for young families, offering housing loans at the Central Bank’s base rate of approximately 14%. To qualify for these subsidized loans on primary market properties, both spouses must be under 30 years old and have no record of homeownership within the past three years. The government decree also outlines broader socio-economic support, including international internships for teachers and interest-free loans for educational centers and entrepreneurs.

Starting from 2027, a specialized mortgage program for young families will be implemented in the country. According to the new resolution, housing loans will be offered at the Central Bank's base rate, currently around 14 percent. If interest rates offered by banks exceed this level, the surplus will be covered by the state. This initiative is expected to significantly ease the process of purchasing housing for young families.

The mortgage loans will apply exclusively to houses on the primary market, meaning the program only supports the purchase of newly constructed homes. Furthermore, to qualify for the program, both spouses must be under the age of 30. Additionally, they must not have had any residential property registered in their names within the last three years.

The resolution also outlines another significant direction: providing for international internships for teachers, as well as the allocation of interest-free loans for educational centers and business entities. These initiatives are aimed at fostering development in the economic and educational sectors.
