How many days off will we have for Remembrance and Appreciation Day?
In brief

In Uzbekistan, employees who work a five-day week will have a consecutive three-day break in observance of Memorial and Honor Day on May 9. Due to the holiday falling on a Saturday in 2023, the day off has been moved to Monday, May 11, as per a presidential decree. Consequently, the days off will be May 9 (Saturday), May 10 (Sunday), and May 11 (Monday), allowing five-day workers to enjoy a continuous break, while six-day workers will have a two-day rest. The labor code stipulates that if a holiday falls on a non-working day, the day off is shifted to the next working day.

In Uzbekistan, employees working a five-day week will have three consecutive days off in observance of May 9 — Remembrance and Appreciation Day.

According to the presidential decree on establishing additional non-working days and shifting rest days during the celebration of official dates in 2026, since May 9 falls on a Saturday this year, this day off is scheduled to be moved to Monday, May 11.

In this regard, the following dates will be rest days:

 - May 9, Saturday — regular day off;

 - May 10, Sunday — traditional day off;

 - May 11, Monday — transferred day off in connection with Remembrance and Appreciation Day.

This means that employees on a five-day work week will have three continuous days of rest, while those on a six-day work week will have two consecutive days off.

The Labor Code also stipulates that if a day off coincides with a non-working holiday, the rest day is transferred to the working day following the holiday.
