Tax officials to receive 100 percent bonus for qualifications

A new phase is beginning in the financial incentive system for tax authority employees in Uzbekistan. Starting June 1, 2026, additional bonuses and seniority-based payments for industry staff are set to increase. These changes aim to retain qualified personnel, encourage employees to improve their knowledge and experience, and properly value long-term service.

One of the most important innovations is that employees holding international certificates or specific qualification levels will receive a bonus equal to 100 percent of their monthly salary. In other words, tax officials who officially confirm their knowledge, professional training, and qualifications can receive additional incentives equal to their salary.

This decision will help increase the number of knowledgeable specialists in the tax service who have a modern approach and understand international standards. Today, tax administration is not just about calculations or audits; it also involves digitalization, analysis, risk assessment, effective communication with entrepreneurs, and legal literacy.

Another change relates to length of service. Payments for years of service for employees who have worked in tax authorities for many years will be increased by up to 150 percent. This is an important step to value the work of experienced personnel, retain them in the system, and strengthen the mentorship environment for young employees.

In practice, such incentives may also foster healthy competition among employees. Those who work on themselves, improve their qualifications, obtain international certificates, and serve effectively for many years will be rewarded more financially. This should be a practical manifestation of the principle that 'those who work hard earn respect.'

Additionally, starting January 1, 2027, the 'Tax Service Devotee' badge will be established. This award is being introduced to incentivize employees who have made a significant contribution to the development of the tax system, achieved high results in their activities, and demonstrated loyalty to the service.

Such symbolic recognitions are also important. In any field, it is not just the salary that matters to an employee, but also the recognition of their work, professional reputation, and value within the team. Especially in public service, such awards can strengthen a sense of responsibility and pride among employees.

In short, new financial incentive measures for tax authority employees will come into effect on June 1. A 100 percent bonus for qualifications, increased payments for years of service, and a new badge are aimed at strengthening professionalism in the system. The main issue now is ensuring these benefits truly serve to incentivize knowledgeable, honest, and effective personnel.
