US President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting at the White House.

“You are disrespecting our country,” Trump told Zelensky. According to the US president, Zelensky has no right to “teach America how to feel.” “You have been at a disadvantage since the beginning of the war,” the US president said.

“You should be grateful. People are dying, you don’t have enough soldiers. You can’t tell us if we want a ceasefire or not,” Trump stressed.

According to RBC-Ukraine, Trump began criticizing Zelensky after he spoke about the need for security guarantees for Ukraine and the need to actively involve Kiev in the negotiation process.

Trump began the argument with Zelensky after Vice President J.D. Vance said that the Ukrainian president was arguing with the American leader in the Oval Office in front of the media.

During the meeting, Zelensky told Ukraine that "we don't need just a ceasefire," and that Russia had violated such an agreement before.

"We don't need just a ceasefire. We've done it, and Putin has violated it 25 times," Zelensky said. In response, Donald Trump said that the war would end if the parties concluded a peace agreement: "Russia doesn't want to go back to war, nobody does."
