Trust in Donald Trump Drops to Record Low: Why Are Americans Dissatisfied?
Americans' trust in U.S. President Donald Trump has fallen to 42%, marking the lowest level since his return to the White House. This was reported by Reuters based on the results of a public opinion poll conducted in cooperation with research firm Ipsos.

According to the survey, only 42% of respondents approve of Trump’s performance as president, while 53% expressed disapproval of his policies.

For comparison, a previous Ipsos survey had shown Trump’s approval rating at 43%, and in the second half of March, it had risen to 45%.

Reuters suggests that one reason for the decline in Trump’s popularity may be his administration’s pressure on universities perceived as too liberal. For instance, in mid-April, the U.S. Department of Education temporarily suspended $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in long-term contracts previously allocated to Harvard University, one of the country’s most prestigious institutions.

Furthermore, 59% of respondents expressed concern that the U.S. is losing its reputation on the international stage. Around 75% said they were against Donald Trump running for a third presidential term in 2028.

Such public sentiment could lead to significant changes in the U.S.’s domestic and foreign policies. The consequences of these shifts are undoubtedly being watched closely by the global community.
