It has been reported that on April 22, the criminals carried out an armed attack near the city of Pahalgam — one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations. As a result of this horrific incident, 26 civilians were killed, and 17 others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
According to Indian security forces, six armed militants were involved in this dreadful terrorist act. They approached a trail in the Baisaran valley where tourists were walking and opened fire without any warning. A militant group called "Kashmir Resistance" claimed responsibility for the terrorist act.
It should be noted that earlier, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extended condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the deaths and serious injuries caused by the attack.
