In recent days, mass protest demonstrations in Los Angeles, USA, have attracted the attention of the international community. These events are directed against the immigration policy of US President Donald Trump, which is considered controversial by experts and the public.
According to videos circulating on social media and official sources, the protests intensified following large-scale raids conducted by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles to identify illegal immigrants. A number of citizens deemed these actions unjust and took to the streets.
According to Ahror Burkhanov, the press secretary of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there is currently no confirmed information about the participation of Uzbek citizens in these demonstrations. Nevertheless, the Ministry issued a call to our compatriots residing in the United States.
“Uzbek citizens must strictly comply with the laws and regulations in force in the US and refrain from participating in any mass gatherings or demonstrations that may threaten public safety. Any legal violation may lead to negative consequences,” said the MFA representative.
The Ministry also emphasized that Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions in the United States continue to protect the rights and interests of citizens, and in case of necessity, citizens may contact the Embassy or Consulates.
