US Vice President J. D. Vance said that it is necessary to stop financing Ukraine in the war with Russia and to focus attention on seeking ways to establish peace in the region. According to him, this issue has entered a stage that requires practical solutions without excessive delay.
“We are tired of financing Ukraine’s war. It is time to establish peace,” Vance said on Fox News. With this statement he gave an explicit signal about the need to review the current policy and reallocate financial directions.
He noted that Americans’ dissatisfaction with their paid taxes being spent to support the war is increasing. In other words, he emphasized that the fatigue coalescing in public opinion and the sense of responsibility of taxpayer-consumers are creating a need for new political decisions in this direction.
Vance called on European countries to take more responsibility on this matter. According to him, the states close to the region feel the consequences of the war more directly and, therefore, it is advisable that they also take the leading initiative in sustainably resolving the problem.
He recalled that he raised this topic during his visit to the United Kingdom. In accordance with this, it was noted that within the format of transatlantic cooperation a clear roadmap of expenditures, security guarantees and diplomatic stages was discussed.
“We told the Europeans plainly: this war is at your doorstep. If you consider this conflict a priority, you must show more initiative and allocate more funds,” the US Vice President said. With this thought he once again reminded that responsibility should be distributed equally and the financial burden shared in fair portions.
At the same time, Vance’s rhetoric signifies the need to transfer the principle of establishing peace into practical mechanisms. That is, he indicated that it is possible to soften the conflict dynamics through political pressure, activation of diplomatic channels and strengthening the architecture of negotiations.
The statement also raised the need for taxpayers’ money to be directed transparently, reallocated to priority sectors, and paid special attention to meeting internal social needs. This requires expanding parliamentary and public oversight and strengthening accountability criteria.
In conclusion, Vance’s calls are aimed at reformatting funding policy, increasing the participation of European states, and most importantly — accelerating peacebuilding through practical strategies.
