Following a meeting of the "volunteer coalition" held in the French capital, Paris, on September 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an important statement. According to him, the meeting participants agreed on a set of general guarantees for the security of Ukraine, and it was emphasized that the greatest responsibility in this process rests with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Zelenskyy, all participants unanimously agreed that peace initiatives aimed at ending the war initiated by Moscow against Ukraine are currently unacceptable. This, in turn, indicates that Kyiv's position is fully supported at the international level.
French President Emmanuel Macron also spoke at the conclusion of the meeting, stating that 26 countries intend to participate in the peacekeeping mission after the ceasefire is implemented in Ukraine. According to him, these countries are "either ready to send their contingent to Ukraine, or to allocate specific resources to ensure security in maritime and airspace."
Macron also stated that the issue of supporting US security guarantees for Ukraine will become known in the coming days. According to him, in the future, Kyiv will conduct direct coordination with Washington regarding sanctions against Russia.
A total of 35 heads of state and government participated in the summit in Paris. The meeting once again demonstrated the international community's readiness to act unanimously in ensuring Ukraine's security and independence.
