Russia said that the possible U.S. delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could further escalate the war. Kremlin officials stressed that such a step would increase the risk of direct confrontation.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the main question is who would launch these missiles – only Ukrainians or also American military personnel. He said such a decision requires deep analysis and raises the level of risk.
Andrei Kartapolov, head of the Russian parliament’s defense committee, also said that if U.S. specialists help Ukraine launch the missiles, they will become targets for Moscow. “No one will be able to protect them,” he said.
At the same time, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also warned Europe, reminding that such a decision could increase the nuclear threat.
