Floods in Odessa claimed the lives of 10 people

Heavy rainfall in Odessa resulted in flooding, claiming the lives of 10 people. More than 1,000 people applied for help.

This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Societies and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba. According to him, the natural disaster in Odessa posed a serious threat to the lives of the population. "The city suffered from the severe consequences of rain and flooding. 10 people, including a child, died. More than 1,000 people sought help from the water, fallen trees, and power outages," he said.

Among the victims is a family of five who remained in the flooded house. The head of the local administration, Gennady Trukhanov, noted that the two-month period of precipitation lasted 7 hours, and despite this, the rainwater system did not accept such a decline.

In addition, more than 42 thousand residents of the region were left without electricity. More than 500 people are involved in the work. Currently, necessary measures are being taken to restore the situation in the city, but the number of victims and injured must be known.
