U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned the country’s current Vice President J.D. Vance as the strongest candidate in the upcoming presidential elections. He stated this during an interview with Fox News.
“I think if he decides to run, the Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance, will be the main contender for the presidency from the Republican Party,” said Rubio. He also described Vance as his close friend and highly praised his work.
According to Rubio, Vance is actively working in the current presidential team and plays an important role in implementing Donald Trump’s political agenda.
In recent months, J.D. Vance’s political future has been actively discussed in the United States. In August of last year, Trump called him “the most likely successor” of the MAGA (“Make America Great Again”) movement. According to Reuters and Newsweek sources, Vance and Rubio are seen as the main candidates within the Republican Party after Trump.
Also, earlier Vance stated that he is ready to take over the presidency if something happens to Trump. According to political observers, his vice-presidential experience further strengthens his reputation among voters.
Marco Rubio, for his part, noted that he does not yet see himself as a presidential candidate, emphasizing that Vance is a “strong and promising politician.” Thus, the preliminary struggle for the 2028 elections has already begun within the Republican Party.
