The US will impose a 100 percent duty on Chinese goods

From November 1, 2025, the US will introduce an additional 100 percent duty on Chinese goods. US President Donald Trump announced this on Truth Social.

"Starting November 1st (or earlier, depending on China's subsequent actions), the US will impose a 100% tariff on China. This will be outside the current tariffs," Trump wrote.

According to him, this measure is being taken as a response to China's plan to impose export restrictions on almost all products from November 1.

From this date, the US will also strengthen export controls, especially in relation to software and technologies that can be used for two purposes - in the civilian and military spheres.

According to the new regulations, a special license is required to export products manufactured in China, even if they contain a small amount of rare earth metals. This requirement applies not only to metals, but also to technologies for their extraction, processing, utilization, and production of magnetic materials.

The Chinese government announced that these restrictions were imposed to fulfill international obligations related to national security, protecting state interests, and controlling the spread.
