Two trains collided in Slovakia, injuring about 100 passengers

A serious railway accident occurred on October 11 near the city of Rozhnyava in eastern Slovakia. According to local media, about 100 people were injured to varying degrees as a result of the collision of two passenger trains.

Slovak Interior Minister Matusz Šutaj-Estoka, in a statement at the scene, stated that, according to preliminary assumptions, the accident was caused by the driver's negligence. Two of the injured are reported to be in serious condition.

Five ambulances and one rescue helicopter were deployed to provide assistance. An official investigation has been launched into the incident. The victims are being provided with the necessary assistance.
