The 17th "Ship of Goodness," carrying humanitarian aid from Turkey to the Gaza Strip, arrived at the Egyptian port of El Arish at noon today.
The ship "Akdeniz," carrying about 900 tons of food products, departed on October 14 from the international port of Mersin, located on the southeastern coast of Turkey.
This aid package was prepared with the support of the Turkish Department of Emergency Situations and Natural Disasters (AFAD) and 17 civil society organizations. The cargo mainly included food, canned goods, and special baby food.
Upon arrival at the port of El Arish, the ship is expected to be officially received by AFAD representatives. According to the data, since October 7, 2023, Turkey has sent humanitarian aid to Gaza by 14 planes and 16 ships.
AFAD stated that the 17th "Ship of Mercy" is ushering in a new phase of Turkey's support for the people of Gaza.
