Newsweek reports that the White House has established a new interagency body aimed at combating former President Donald Trump's political opponents and critics.
According to the publication, this structure has been operating since May 2025. It included representatives from the White House, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Departments of Justice, Defense, and Internal Security.
Official sources told Reuters that this commission "is not a means of revenge against specific individuals." Nevertheless, political commentators consider this structure a mechanism by the Trump administration to exert pressure on critics.
This initiative has sparked widespread discussions about democratic values and political freedoms in the US.
