
During the recent working visit of the Uzbek delegation to Ankara, important agreements were reached aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in internal affairs and simplifying labor migration. This was reported by the “Dunyo” information agency.
At the meeting in the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Deputy Minister Mehmet Aktas emphasized the high level of strategic cooperation between the two countries. During the negotiations, the Turkish side expressed its readiness to consider a number of key initiatives for Uzbek citizens: • Electronic labor visas: The possibility of introducing a simplified mechanism for obtaining electronic labor visas for Uzbek citizens is being studied.
• On-site legalization: The possibility of granting work permits to Uzbeks who are in Turkey under other visa categories without leaving the country will be considered. • Combating illegal migration: Both sides agreed to work together to create a unified electronic database to efficiently register persons residing illegally in the territories of both countries.
In addition, the issue of preparing a cooperation memorandum regulating cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries in combating illegal migration and organizing the repatriation of citizens was discussed. Moreover, at a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Deputy Minister Musa Kulaklikaya specifically noted that Turkey and Uzbekistan are united by a common history, culture, and religion.
During the negotiations, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing closer political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, and noted that partnership in the field of labor migration has long-term prospects.
