An unusual theft in northeastern Bohemia has led to serious paralysis in the country's railway system. Novinky reports that unknown individuals have cut and stolen keys, traffic lights, and control cables that ensure the safe movement of trains.
As a result, on Sunday evening, dozens of trains carrying hundreds of passengers were stopped. According to the police, as a result of prompt measures taken at the scene, three suspects were detained.
Experts say that the stolen cables are important for the railway signaling system, and their disappearance has disrupted the safety of the entire railway.
Transport service representatives partially restored traffic after a few hours, but the full restart of the system is expected to continue until Monday.
The incident is noted as one of the largest infrastructure thefts observed in the Czech Republic in recent years.
