Video reports have circulated showing several Indian students who signed contracts with the Russian army have been killed in the fighting in Ukraine. Their relatives say that the young men were deceived by promises of "quick money" and citizenship, but were sent to the front without any preparation.
One of them died just ten days after signing an agreement with the Russian Ministry of Defense. Others are missing. According to witnesses, their bodies were not found.
So far, the Russian side has not commented on these cases. However, this event intensified criticism of Russia's policy of recruiting foreign citizens for military service.
According to observers, involving financially disadvantaged students in the war for the sake of "quick enrichment" is playing with human life.
