The Syrian president began his visit to the US on a basketball court

Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara'a unexpectedly began his official visit to the US from a sports ground, Oxu.Az reports.

It was revealed that he played basketball alongside Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the U.S. Armed Forces Central Command (CENTCOM), and Admiral Kevin Lambert. "We had some training on the field with Admirals Cooper and Lambert," he wrote on his Instagram page.

This action by Ash-Shara'a caused a strong resonance on social media - some users interpret this as a sign of "soft diplomacy," while others interpret it as "an unusual friendly dialogue in politics."

On November 8, Ahmad al-Shara'a made an official visit to the US capital, Washington. During the visit, he met with US President Donald Trump on November 10.
