In neighboring Kazakhstan, air quality is rapidly deteriorating. This was reported by the country's main environmental service - "Kazhydromet."
According to the data, on November 17, harmful substances in the air in 11 cities of the country may exceed the norm. Among them are the cities of Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Aktobe, Shymkent, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Balkhash, Oskemen, and Ridder.
Meteorologists attribute the situation to weak winds, fog, and atmospheric inversion. In such cases, harmful gases and dust particles in the air do not spread and accumulate close to the ground surface, resulting in difficulty breathing.
Experts advise residents to spend less time outdoors, especially away from roads. Also, people with lung diseases, allergies, or cardiovascular problems are recommended to carry medications with them.
Ecologists note that in recent years, the cities of Almaty, Karaganda, and Temirtau have been noted as the areas with the most polluted air in Kazakhstan. The onset of the winter season and a decrease in air movement can exacerbate the situation.
