It has been reported that special drones and other armed systems are being used in India to combat wolves, which pose a threat to humans. These techniques are currently used to observe wild wolves in Uttar Pradesh and detect their attacks on humans. Nine deaths have been recorded in the last three months, with the majority of the victims being children. This was reported by the popular publication Le Figaro.
The predators, traditionally, began to attack during the day. In general, wolves usually do not attack people, but their daytime activity may be caused by the living environment or hunger. Rama Singh Yadav, a forestry worker, stated that drones, camera traps, and sniper groups were deployed for this purpose.
For example, on November 29, a wolf stole a 10-month-old girl sleeping next to a mother. The day before, a 5-year-old boy was attacked by a wolf in front of his house and died when he was taken to the hospital.
Local residents in the area say they are afraid to even let the children out into the yard. Most of the approximately 3,000 wolves in India live outside protected areas, often near populated areas.
These activities aimed at preserving wildlife in India are aimed at ensuring public safety.
