In a document sent to about 60 countries by the U.S. administration, it is stated that members of the “Board of Peace” must provide $1 billion in cash if they want to operate for more than three years. Reuters reviewed this document.
According to the document, each member state initially joins for a three-year term. After the term ends, the board chairman may extend the membership. However, if a country pays $1 billion in the first year, its membership becomes permanent.
Bloomberg News was the first to publish this document. Accordingly, the new initiative aims to link members financially and limit the duration of their membership.
