Animals were treated to fruit ice at a Brazilian zoo during an abnormal heat

In Rio de Janeiro's BioParque Zoo, the animals were treated to special ice cream to help them survive the abnormal heat that hit the city. This was reported by Associated Press.

Zoo staff prepared individual "cooling" treats for the inhabitants, taking into account their species and dietary habits. The monkeys received watermelon ice cream, and the jaguar was offered a frozen mixture of floating chicken in the pool. According to biologist Letitia Feytoz, such practices not only cool the animals but also contribute to their hydration, as the predator, trying to get the snack, swallows the water.

Visitors to the zoo, despite the heat, watched with interest the unusual feast of the animals. "I thought it was really cool. This brings them more comfort," shared teacher Lorena Carvalho.
