Social networks are turning into a "plague" - Czech authorities warn

The Czech government is considering banning children under 15 from using social networks. Prime Minister Andrei Babish, in a video message posted on Facebook, said that he supported this initiative, inspired by the experience of France.
"I am in favor of such a ban. Because experts emphasize the negative impact of social networks on children. And we must protect them," Babish said.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Karel Gavlichek, the government plans to prepare an official proposal this year after consulting with experts. "Social networks are ruining children's lives. This situation is now escalating to the level of a plague," he said in an interview with CNN Prima News.
Recall that in January, the French National Assembly adopted a similar law in the first reading. Additionally, access to social networks is prohibited for those under 16 in Australia starting in 2025. A similar plan was announced earlier this year in Spain.
