In the Indian state of Rajasthan, a 23-year-old girl with a lover killed her husband just three months after their wedding, NDTV reported.
According to the investigation, the 25-year-old Sanjay met Anjali at his wedding in 2018. The couple exchanged phone numbers, but contact was lost. In 2024, a girl searches for Sanjay, and a romance flares up between them. The parents opposed their daughter's marriage to the chosen one and married her off to Ashish Kumar in October 2025. Feeling deeply unhappy, the girl continued to communicate with her beloved, and then decided to get rid of her lawful husband.
On the evening of January 30, Anjali invited her husband to go for a walk and informed her lover where they were going. The criminal and his two accomplices were already waiting for their victim in the bushes by the road. As soon as the couple approached, the men attacked Ashish, striking him repeatedly on the head with sticks. Then he was strangled with a scarf.
To stage the robbery, Anjali handed her earrings and her husband's mobile phone to the attackers, then lay down on the road and pretended to be unconscious.
Passersby called the police. The couple was taken to the hospital where Ashish Kumar died. The autopsy showed that he died of strangulation, although his wife initially assured him that he had been hit by a car. The girl, her lover, and her accomplices were arrested.
