In the Italian province of Lecce, in the town of Torre Lapillo, a 57-year-old local resident inadvertently threw his container containing 20 gold bars into a garbage bin. This was reported by RMF24 radio station.
The man invested in precious metals for several years and accumulated savings of up to 120 thousand euros. But only a day later did he realize that he had discarded the container with the ingots as ordinary household waste. They immediately contacted the police.
During an investigation by law enforcement agencies, it became known that the waste was transported to a special landfill in the city of Ujento. Police conducted a search operation there, and as a result of successful work, they found a container containing gold bars.
This incident clearly demonstrates how much financial risk carelessness can lead to. Fortunately, this time it ended well - the capital returned safely to its owner.
