A normal night turned into a real tragedy for a family living in Panama City, Florida, USA. WMBB reports that the owners of the house lost their home due to a burglar.
According to the owner of the house, Donnie Banta, in the middle of the night, strange noises began to come from the attic. Not long after, a foul smell in the air woke everyone up. Donnie immediately realized the seriousness of the situation and woke up his wife, Stacy Davis, and their children.
The family wasted no time and quickly took the children outside. The most impressive thing is that they didn’t forget about their pets: they even managed to get their dog and cat out to safety.
Despite the fact that the firefighters arrived very quickly, the fire was so intense that the house was almost completely burned down. Later, the cause of the incident became clear: the squirrel was to blame for the fire.
According to the firefighters, the animal gnawed at the electrical wires in the attic. This caused a short circuit, and the fire quickly spread.
In short, the “ordinary” action of a small animal led to a huge loss for a family. Most importantly, people and pets survived, but the house itself was irreparably damaged.
