9 people died as a result of snow and ice falling from roofs in Russia

In Russia, 9 people died in a week as a result of accidents involving snow and ice falling from roofs. TASS news agency reported this, citing the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the ministry, the situation worsened last week in 32 regions against the backdrop of dangerous and unfavorable weather events. In 25 regions, more than 60 cases of snow and ice fall from roofs were recorded, 24 people were injured, 9 of them died.
Experts recommend being extremely cautious when walking around the roofs and porches of buildings on such days, avoiding areas where ice is hanging. So far, the details of the incidents have not been disclosed, but the ministry once again reminded of the need for timely roof cleaning and identification of dangerous zones in the regions.
