US President Donald Trump signed a decree introducing an additional 10% tariff for all countries. He announced this on his Truth Social social media page.
According to the president, the decision was signed in the Oval Office and will take effect immediately. He assessed this step as an important measure in economic policy.
According to the White House, the declaration introduces import duties on goods entering the US. The procedure comes into force on February 24 and will be applied for 150 days.
Previously, the US Supreme Court deemed the tariffs imposed by Trump under the State of Emergency Management Act illegal. The court's decision notes that the president, having exceeded his authority, relied on this law.
Following this, Trump stated that all tariffs would remain in effect. He emphasized that these measures are aimed at protecting economic interests.
