US President Donald Trump is expected to make an official visit to China amid trade tensions, Reuters reports. The trip is planned to last from March 31 to April 2.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping is planned. This will be the first face-to-face meeting between the leaders of the two countries since October of last year.
According to reports, the parties will discuss the issue of extending the trade agreement. The agenda also includes topics such as tariffs, the export of soybeans and rare resources, and drug control.
Meanwhile, Xi Jinping expressed concern about the US plans to supply weapons to Taiwan. This issue can also be raised in the negotiations.
Previously, Bloomberg reported that the US plans to expedite the delivery of a number of weapons systems to Taiwan, which were previously delayed.
