Russia Begins Sending Humanitarian Aid to Iran

Iran requested humanitarian assistance from Russia and other friendly nations, and delivery operations have already been organized. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

An official representative of the Russian MFA stated at a briefing that many hospitals and emergency stations in the country were destroyed, and the number of injured, including women and children, is high, which led Iran to ask friendly countries to send medicines.

According to him, under the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the dispatch of necessary humanitarian aid to the people of Iran is being organized.

On March 12, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the shipment of more than 13 tons of medicines for the population of Iran. The cargo will be transported by Il‑76 military transport aircraft to Azerbaijan and then handed over to Iranian representatives.

It is worth noting that the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. In response, Iran is striking US military bases and oil tankers in the Middle East.

According to the Iranian Ministry of Health, as of March 8, over 1200 civilians have died since the beginning of the military actions.
