Sometimes in the history of mankind, such events occur that the tragedy behind them and the subsequent miraculous happiness do not fail to amaze. A family drama that occurred in China and the echo of joy that echoed 28 years later are now attracting the attention of the world community. Zamin.uz presents the story of a girl who, having endured the trials of a terrible fate, found her roots.
When Hong Yanli, a Chinese woman, was born as the third daughter in the family, she did not yet know what trials awaited her. While her mother, Yang Xiaoyin, was recovering from childbirth and her father was away, the eldest in the family, the grandfather, took the baby away, saying, "I'll take care of the grandchild myself." But the old man, whose only desire in his heart was a son, threw the helpless infant into the public toilet in the neighboring village.
Accidental salvation and the road to Europe
By the grace of the Creator, one of the travelers hears a baby crying. A small amount of money, powdered milk, and a letter with a date of birth were found with the baby. The fate of the girl, who was placed in an orphanage, changes dramatically a year later: a loving couple from the Netherlands adopts her and takes her to Europe.
Hun Yanli grew up in the Netherlands, surrounded by love and care. He not only received a higher education, but also conquered the heights of science and successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. But the question "who am I?" in a corner of his soul did not leave him in peace.
The 28-year separation has come to an end
Hong Yanli, who submitted a DNA sample with the help of volunteers, finally found his biological parents. On March 14, he visited his native village. He was greeted with a real celebration - fireworks and festivities.
- Mother's anguish: The girl's mother explained that she hadn't forgiven her father-in-law for this act all her life and hadn't spoken to him until his death.
- Father's gift: A father who lived with a sense of guilt for years expressed his longing by giving his daughter a gold bracelet and an elegant jade jewelry.

The bitter fruit of the "one family - one child" policy
The demographic restrictions imposed in China in the 1980s and 1990s turned the lives of thousands of girls upside down. The traditional belief that a son is the heir to the lineage and the backbone of old age forced many families to abandon their own children. The story of Hun Yangli is one of the thousand echoes of this era.
Now the Chinese parents want to express their gratitude to the foreign couple who traveled to the Netherlands in the summer and raised their daughter.
Dear fans, in your opinion, should a person search for their roots no matter how long? Is it humane to divorce based on the child's gender?
