Trump warns of possible military action against Iran

US President Donald Trump has warned that if negotiations with Iran fail, he could strike the country's key energy and oil infrastructure, including the strategically important Kharq Island.
Trump said on his Truth Social network on March 30: "If a deal is not reached soon - and it probably will be - and if the Strait of Hormuz is not 'opened for economic activity' soon, we will finish off our important 'organization' in Iran by blowing up and destroying all the power plants, oil wells and Kharq Island (and all the desalination plants if necessary) that they have not yet taken care of."
At the same time, he stressed that the United States is engaged in "serious and productive negotiations" with the "new and wiser regime" in Tehran, and that significant progress has already been made in this process. Trump had previously told reporters that the Iranian side had agreed to most of the demands made by Washington through intermediaries.
In an interview with the Financial Times on March 29, Trump expressed his desire to ensure strategic control by strengthening control over Iran's oil industry. This would open up the possibility of taking control of Kharq Island and controlling oil exports through it.
Asked about the island's defense, Trump said: "They don't have much defense, we can easily take it," and noted that possible military measures have wide possibilities.
Thus, Trump's statement demonstrated the urgent importance of the political and strategic relationship between the United States and Iran, further increasing attention in the field of regional security and global energy.
