US President Trump stated that he would consider cooperating with Iran in the form of a "joint project" to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz. He also stated that there is an opportunity to discuss transit conditions and cargo movement through the strait. This was reported by ABC News.
Before the conflict, the Strait of Hormuz was considered a free-flowing waterway under international maritime law. According to Bloomberg, more than 800 ships have accumulated in the Persian Gulf, unable to cross the strait due to military actions against Iran.
The agency writes that "a two-week agreement could temporarily open Hormuz, but the situation remains dangerous, and ship owners are in no hurry to resume traffic without safety guarantees."
According to recent reports, the Tasnim news agency reported that if Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, Iran may withdraw from the concluded ceasefire agreement. Furthermore, it was reported that Iran suspended cargo transportation through the Strait of Hormuz following Israel's attacks on Lebanon.
