Trump launches operation to deploy ships in Strait of Hormuz

Announced via his Truth Social platform, the operation began on May 4 and aims to assist neutral ships that cannot navigate the area amid rising tensions. Trump described the vessels as "innocent observers" caught in the conflict and emphasized the humanitarian nature of the operation, which is being conducted at the request of international partners. However, Iran has expressed caution regarding U.S. involvement, warning that it could disrupt regional peace and violate ceasefire agreements.

The President described these vessels as "innocent bystanders with no involvement in the conflict," emphasizing that they have become victims of the tense situation in the region. It was also noted that the operation was launched at the request of international partners.
It is reported that the ships were halted in the Strait of Hormuz area due to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. During the operation, they will be escorted by the US through a secure corridor.
Trump called the move a "humanitarian step," noting that some of the ships are running low on food and essential supplies. According to him, the US does not rule out the use of force if the operation is obstructed.
However, the Iranian side is approaching this initiative with caution. Ebrahim Azizi stated that any US interference could affect regional peace and potentially violate the ceasefire agreement.
