Trump announced the deployment of an additional 5,000 troops to Poland

US President Donald Trump announced that an additional 5,000 American troops will be sent to Poland. He wrote about this on his Truth Social page.

This statement comes a week after reports that the Pentagon had canceled plans to send 4,000 soldiers to Poland. US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that this decision was not a full cancellation, but a temporary postponement.

In recent weeks, the Trump administration has expressed its intention to reduce the number of troops in Europe as part of its “America First” policy. Nevertheless, Washington emphasizes that it intends to maintain its military presence in Poland.

Previously, the US announced it would withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany. It is currently unknown whether the additional troops being sent to Poland will come from the forces being withdrawn from Germany or if they will be sent as a separate contingent.
