Ebola panic in Congo: residents set fire to hospital

In Congo, people set fire to isolation tents at a hospital after they were not allowed to retrieve the body of a young man suspected of dying from Ebola.

Two tents were burned down, and one medical worker was injured. Police fired warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd.

According to officials, some locals do not believe in the Ebola disease. They consider it a fabricated illness invented by NGOs and hospitals to make money.

The World Health Organization has declared a state of emergency in the region due to hundreds of suspected Ebola cases.
