Russia May Ban Certain Chinese Cars

Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, has stated that certain Chinese car models should not be allowed on the roads. As a result, the certification process for foreign cars entering the Russian market needs to be stricter.

According to Alikhanov, Chinese automakers are rapidly expanding their presence in Russia, and the government has been adjusting the utilization fee to balance the market. However, this is not enough, and stricter quality control over mass-produced vehicles is required.

The ministry has conducted an analysis of Chinese trucks and identified serious violations in three brands, deeming them unsafe for the roads.
