While Tesla's global sales dropped by only 1%, the decline in key markets was much more significant.
- In California, sales fell by 11.6%, though Tesla still holds 52.5% of the US EV market (down from 60.1% last year).
- In China, Tesla sold 63,238 EVs in January, down 11.5% from the previous year. Meanwhile, BYD surged by 47%, selling 296,446 EVs and hybrids.
- In Germany, only 1,277 Teslas were sold, marking a 59.5% drop. Tesla’s market share shrank from 14% to 4%.
- In France, sales declined by 63%, Norway saw a 38% drop, and the UK declined by 8%.
