Toyota Tacoma leads brand in value retention
Although the Toyota RAV4 ranked third in global car sales last year with 1.08 million units sold, that doesn’t make it the brand’s most valuable model for resale, Daily-motor.ru reported.

A new study by iSeeCars confirms this, as the RAV4 does not appear in the top five vehicles with the lowest depreciation after five years.

Porsche 911 and Porsche 718 Cayman took the top spots, while third place went to a Toyota—but not the RAV4. The brand’s best resale performer is the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Over five years, the Tacoma loses only 26% of its original retail value, compared to the market average of 45.6%.

The RAV4 ranks seventh, with a 30.9% loss. Ahead of it is the Toyota Tundra, which depreciates by 29.1%.

Top 7 vehicles for value retention over 5 years:

Porsche 911 — 19.5%
Porsche 718 Cayman — 21.8%
Toyota Tacoma — 26%
Chevrolet Corvette — 27.2%
Honda Civic — 28%
Toyota Tundra — 29.1%
Toyota RAV4 — 30.9%
