GM recalls nearly 900,000 vehicles in the US
General Motors (GM) has announced a recall of nearly 877,000 pickups and large SUVs in the US, reported Kursiv Media. The move follows the discovery of defects in 6.2-liter V8 engines that could lead to power loss or complete engine failure while driving.

The affected vehicles include 2021–2024 models such as the Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL, all equipped with L87 engines.

A probe by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed widespread complaints. The issue stems from internal engine part damage—especially the crankshaft and connecting rods.

Under the recall, vehicles will undergo free inspections. If no issues are found, 0W-40 motor oil will be added and filters changed. If problems exist, the engine will be overhauled or replaced.
