Starting from October this year, the sale of “beautiful” license plates through the Republican Commodity Exchange “Tashkent” will be suspended, Kursiv Media reported. This decision was confirmed by a government resolution.
The remaining plates on the exchange will be distributed among car owners depending on their category. Their sale will be managed by the state-owned enterprise Uzavtomotobelgi. Plates of categories 1–3 will be sold at higher rates, while others will be distributed in turn.
From next year, the mechanism of selling “beautiful” numbers via the exchange will be fully abolished. Car owners will be able to obtain them directly through Uzavtomotobelgi. Starting in January, the use of digit and letter combinations in license plates will also be allowed.
