Six Chinese cars aim to conquer the European market.

At least six major Chinese automakers aim to enter the European market. These companies try to conquer the European market by building or purchasing equipment. This was reported by the director of "Avtostat" Sergey Selikov on his Telegram channel, citing data from the French analytical center Inoviev.

BYD is completing the construction of its plant in the Hungarian city of Szeged, where the production of the first models is expected next autumn. In 2026-2027, four different models for the European market, including Dolphin Surf (segment B), may be assembled at this plant. The company's second plant could be built in Turkey, and a third in Italy.

The Chery car brand began using the capacities of the former Nissan plant in Barcelona at the end of 2024. Now Ebro and Omoda models are being assembled there.

The MG brand, part of SAIC Group, is the leading seller in the European market among Chinese auto companies. This company is also actively searching for a production site.

Geely plans to assemble its Smart and Polestar models in Europe specifically for this market. One of Hungary, the Czech Republic, or Slovakia can be chosen, and it is more likely that it will be Slovakia. The plant is expected to open in 2028.

Also, Dongfeng and Xpeng brands are seriously preparing to conquer the European market.
