Uzbekistan is on the verge of a new stage in the railway transport sector. According to official data, the country plans to launch the production of high-speed trains at local enterprises starting in 2027.
The first deputy chairman of the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Railways" Hikmatulla Rakhmatov informed the media about the plans in this direction. According to him, the project will be implemented in cooperation with one of the countries with the most advanced technologies in the world.
This initiative will be a bold step not only towards the development of the country's railway infrastructure, but also towards technological independence. The official documents of the project, that is, the decision and the roadmap, are expected to be approved in the coming weeks.
At the initial stage, it is planned to produce 10 modern high-speed trains per year. These trains are expected to significantly improve the quality of passenger transportation in major cities within Uzbekistan.
