Foreign cars are entering Russia despite sanctions

According to Reuters, despite the sanctions imposed by Western countries, foreign-made cars continue to enter the Russian market through China.
The report notes that BMW and several major automakers have officially halted direct car deliveries to Russia. However, despite this, these vehicles are being delivered to dealers in Russia through various intermediary companies.
According to the agency, the volume of imports carried out through this bypass is increasing year by year. In particular, it was reported that almost half of the foreign cars sold in Russia in 2025 were imported through China.
According to experts, this situation indicates the strengthening of China's position in the international trade and logistics system. This also indicates that under the current sanctions, companies and market participants are forming alternative supply chains and new logistics chains.
