Volkswagen fans will soon witness the most technological crossover in the brand's history. Pre-sales for the Era 9X model are set to begin this month.
Developed in partnership with China's SAIC, this model is packed with high-end features: a hybrid system with two electric motors producing 530 hp and a 1.5T internal combustion engine (141 hp) acting solely as a generator. A large 65 kWh NMC battery provides a 400 km CLTC range. The vehicle also features rear-wheel steering and double air suspension.
The interior of the Era 9X is said to be far superior to that of the Audi Q7. Despite its curb weight of 2600 kg, it accelerates to 100 km/h in approximately 4.5 seconds, while consuming half the fuel of traditional combustion engine rivals with similar performance.
